Halloween! + Nanami Cosplay + Japanese Exchange Students

Halloween is one of my favorite American holidays. I had so much fun trick or treating and coming to school all dressed up on Halloween and on the day that the exchange students came! Then I was able to party with them which was so much fun!

Loara Shenanigans

The best part of Loara would have to be the fact that I got to sit next to Elise and this guy! This kid here is Jordan. He's the new addition to the colorguard this year and actually the first guy to join here at Whitney. Now although I'm too ashamed to talk too much about our performance at Loara, here I present to you just some shenanigans that happened when Jordan and I were on the bus.

Elise had brought her 3DS and her pokemon gamess! We started playing with her pokemon and it's pretty funny as to what the game can detect. Apparently, depending on how your face is, it may or may not be able to detect a smile...(wasn't my case but it sure was Jordan's!)

Talent Show Shenanigans

If you've ever been curious as to what happens behind the scenes of Kokoro Kara talent show performers or about any performers in general, here you have it!

After practice 8pm pizza parties!

Shuffling around to get clothes together

And makeup!

and a little special at the end!

Henry's wonderful little birthday moment!

Shopping adventures

So a lot of the time I go out to Island of the Pacific with my family and I was given the opportunity to purchase as many snacks and candies as I felt like getting!

So naturally, I get the latest Asian candies, crackers and chips and I throw them into the shopping cart. It's one of the best things ever and well...naturally...I get some chocolate milk to go!

Grandmotherly Love (*´∀`*)

Long, long ago my grandma would always ask me what I would like as a gift from her and I'd always say something that I could keep forever. In which several years later (due to her being in pain and going to the Philippines and all of those sorts), she gives me a gift that I didn't expect to receive!

She crocheted me a shawl and a hat to go with it, putting it in what was my favorite color when I was little, a bright green and having flowers here and there as I loved flowers more than anything.

Not only that, but she had also brought me a diamond bracelet that she kept in a safe in the Philippines that she planned on giving to my aunt's daughters, but she only had two sons, putting me next because my sister isn't that fond of jewelry.

Although not too long after, my grandma, while staying with us when my mom went with my brother to Minnesota to visit my dad, she  crocheted another hat! Although my sister had bought her the yarn beforehand and there was enough for a pair of hats! My sister and I ended up having similar hats and I'm waiting for the day that I could wear all of these things and not die of heat!

They're so lovely, I love my grandma dearly.

Talent Show Shirt 2013

If you remember, last year's talent show t-shirt design was as above. The theme being, "What happens in Vegas" and happened for the first time in our own theater in the multimedia center!

Although it was a decent design for what the theme was, a lot of problems happened. Those that were in charge of the event didn't plan accordingly and didn't get their jobs done on time...which is why it's so rough for those that had their names misspelled...
Not to sound like a prick or anything...but...I get my name misspelled quite often...but...
Seriously...Larrnie Barcelon?

Pleated Knife Skirt! ㅇㅅㅇ

After the PSAT, my sister and I went to Joann's to get my fabric for my halloween costume!

I got some black bias tape, but sadly I forgot to get the white bias tape too because I was thinking about how I was going to make the patch... I got some DMC S712 embroidery floss and then Gene Papyrus Wrinklease 100% cotton and navy sweater fleece (although I didn't know how much I needed so I got excess...but on the bright side I can make another sweater??).

Although after many attempts of getting the sewing machine to work again with my mom, it turns out that it wouldn't work...but taking into account that it's older than me, it was only to be expected.

In result, I spent 7 hours hand sewing the skirt together with a backstitch. (Photo credit to my sister as it was ripped off her instagram) It took forever and was incredibly tedious!

But in the end, after measurements and bloodshed and working with irritable people and fabrics and situations, I had finished my pleated knife skirt at 2am in the morning.

And it's as fitted and sturdy as my store bought skirts too!

I've never been so proud of myself! Time to get a move on with the jacket and top now! Although...I still need to get that white bias tape...

If you're interested in making your own pleated skirt, you should really look it up online. Here's the site that I used for help: http://thecosplaychronicles.blogspot.com/2010/02/how-to-cosplay-pleated-skirt.html For my skirt, I had used knife pleats while others may use box pleats. It all really depends on preference and what one might need.

Knitted Neapolitan Scarf ❤

I spent today cleaning the house and doing other things and I remembered that I started knitting a scarf last year. Turns out the scarf wasn't big enough for me and I was too lazy to continue it..so I finished it off and gave it to my dog!
He's a spectacular little fashion model

Nathan's Glassy Ceramic Musical Note

So Nathan B. in his beginning ceramics class made this cool piece that I have hung up on my wall and his dragon mug! It's pretty rad yo.

I will eventually show off the mug I swear.
