Hello Kitty to Issho:Kirishima Moe Cosplay Progress & Finished Look

Hey everyone! So I recall telling you all that I was going to make a cosplay for this character that had been designed for Sanrio Japan's artist project and collaboration: Hello Kitty to Issho!. I recall telling you guys that I was going to make it for Hello Kitty con... only to never full make it in time because tickets were sold out. A little while ago though.. my magnificent and amazing sister had bought us tickets to attend one of the showings for Hello Kitty's Supercute friendship festival at Inglewood, California.

So.. I went to go do just that! Here's a link for the site about Kirishima Moe by the way. She was designed by Koge-Donbo*, a Japanese artist and mangaka known well for Kamichama Karin, Di-Gi-Charat, and Pita Ten.

!!!

But moving on! So I first started off making all of the little accessories and what not. What I had done as I had used some shrinky dink plastic to create everything... drawing and getting all the features on with sharpies and felt tip markers.

And then I put them in to bake!

Most of them came out alright in the end..

Chanrio Maker!

Hey cuties! So this is something that I found a while ago and it was such a big thing before and I was wondering if anyone else had heard of it~? As you all know.. I'm a pretty big fan of Sanrio and Hello Kitty (I have yet to post about the Hello Kitty's Friendship Festival! Sorry!) and so I just HAD to make one.

Realistic Rattle Head

So I'm back with another one of my previously made ceramic pieces... this one was rather interesting I guess? I originally started off trying to make this look like me.. and then at some point I messed up big time so I ended up just going with it.

At first, I thought she looked like Fiona from Shrek but I don't know anymore... but I was told that she looked like a peasant so I had glazed her accordingly! I had used several of the oxides and then completely used a transparent glaze overtop.

After, I had brought in some watered down acrylics to give/get more of that dirty look.

Not sure what to feel about it.. but I guess in the end I don't really care for her.

Graduation Gift!! ~ Love from Lily

Hey everyone! So I thought I might as well post another post here while I can and still have the time to. I'll be talking about the amazingly wonderful gift that I had received from the wonderful Lily today. I had received this in the mail forever ago but I just never found the ability to talk and blog about it.

I was confuse as to what the package was.. I don't recall ordering anything that looked like this in the mail! I was waiting on a whole bunch of wigs and the like for Anime Expo which was also right around the corner.

When I had opened it.. what came out was an amazing Alpacasso from Amuse! Lily said she had bought the cutie pie off of eBay and was worried that she had bought me a bootleg but after doing several checking.. I'm pretty sure the little fella is the real deal.

The tag is just the cutest thing ever.

This little cutie has a sheep's hat with the cute little horns on the sides. It reminds me of horoscopes but due to the fact that I looked up and fact checked forever ago.. I can't for the life of me remember if it's true or not! I'm definitely betting money on me just having a silly association though.

The sweetheart is just the cutest thing in the world. I love the color and it's my first alpacasso with the design line and the design shape that you see here. It's really, really interesting to be completely honest! Now, I almost have all of the sizes of the alpacasso... I'm almost there but I doubt I'd be willing to drop $100 or so on the largest size.

The cutie pie is incredibly soft and plush. Very well made.. I'm incredibly surprised.. but I got my very first alpacasso (my little baby Vincent!) off of eBay too... so I don't mind that too much.

All in all.. I'm just so incredibly thankful that Lily would send me such a beautiful and adorable little sweetheart! I love him to death Lily! Thank you so much!!!

I'm almost there by the way.. slowly but surely creeping up to reach 4 feet and 7 inches for the usual Gretchen Whitney High School 7th grader height....

Next purchases for sure will have to be the wedding alpacasso! I found them for a beautiful price here: http://www.tofucute.com/alpacasso-alpaca-bridal-keychain~p1557.html and Reis said it'd be perfectly fine with him if we got them (which I hope so because the day they'll be put to use will come one day or another~)

Pacific Media Expo (PMX) -- Decora Fashion Coordinate & Attending Day 3 (Monday)

Hey guys! I am 100% aware that I'm not working and writing properly or chronologically (I've been working off of my phone! Thank god there's an app out there that properly and efficiently works with blogger!) and that I'm sincerely all over the place.. But I more recently had attended the pacific media expo in Pasadena, California on Monday!
I had found some amazingly cheap tickets on Goldstar a little while back and I just HAD to get a hold on this amazing opportunity. Actual tickets off of the site were in the $30s or $40s and so this was just a MUST.

The heat and the location were definitely going to be two major factors that I couldn't deal with. At first, I was going to try to complete my tinkerbell cosplay but I couldn't due to the fact that my home life had a few problems working around... but that's not the point here. In the end, I managed! I ended up deciding on wearing Decora fashion and it really turned out to be a good thing in the end... You'll see why ;) !

AHHH so first things first, I got there around 11pm but didn't really do much until later. I had picked up an absolutely amazing matcha tea latte from Tom & Toms coffee. I had stayed here for a good couple of minutes .. and not really finishing it off because finding a nice matcha green tea latte is so, so incredibly difficult honestly. Most of the time, when you buy matcha green tea lattes.. the matcha powder they use doesn't dissolve properly into the drink and ends up just gathering at the bottom...making it kind of gross and discomforting to drink. Somehow... Tom & Tom coffee didn't do that? It was like a miracle.

Sawdust fired Ceramic Slab Box

By the by, here's the finished version of the ceramic slab box I had to make for my ceramics class!

I think these are definitely my favorite angles of it haha... but my requirements for this assignment was to create a box using a building technique with slabs and to create places for texture and areas of interest... along with several places for collages!

Let's go into more detail below...

So I had wanted to create a design that was very... earthy and reminded me of the beauty of the forest. I had created my signature butterfly and incised some lines onto it to give it interest. For the antennae, I had used nails and attached the butterfly to the box with a rock to lift it up.

I had created a border for the top by attaching separate slabs to create a geometric look like the one you see above.

For the textures and the like, I had actually taken a piece of bark and used it as a paddle to the clay to add texture. Afterwards, I had carved out parts of the slab to create the trees and the border-like design for the collage space.

After, I cut the box accordingly! I had a hard time deciding.. but somehow came out with what I have here. Once that was done, I threw it into the sawdust fire. Unfortunately, it didn't come out the colors that I had hoped it'd have.. so I had tampered with the box's outside several times using acrylic paints, nail polishes, pigmented metallic dust, and more and ended up with the look that you see now.

Once that was done, I had collaged the designs you see here. The silhouettes are simply from google and were stock images that I got off of the internet. The backgrounds are maps, pattern paper, sheet music, rice paper, and neutral invitations. I created a vignette to focus on the animals specifically by using watered down acrylic paints.

After all of that, I had waited for it to dry and then I had came back and used black acrylic paint to add a nice gold accent to the box as it didn't look right without it.

I think it came out looking incredibly beautiful.. but I might just be incredibly biased because I love the forest-y neutral aesthetic.
