Supplies Shopping

AHHH!! Look at this GORGEOUS fabric haul that I got!! Bought them or a couple of commissions and the like that I had gotten. I'm so excited!

Look at this gorgeous LACE.

SO . GORGEOUS .

(Inu x Boku SS) Ayakashi Ririchiyo Cosplay Progress

I know I said this was a cosplay progress post...but look at him. He's so adorable.

Moving on! I had cut out the basic design that I had wanted on Ririchiyo's scarf. As of now, I'm making her ayakashi version. I had cut out the design that I wanted (I ended up cutting the selvage off because it really did upset me having it on) and I'm either planning to do hand applique or to finish off the edges of the fabric using a no fraying piece and then using an applique adhesive to bind the two pieces together.

Also, around the same time, I had began cutting out pieces on my tights.

This is ridiculously awkward but I plan on finishing this cosplay later when I have my hands on a serger. Unfortunately, I didn't fully think the progress through as I've worked with knits and spandex before but now, I just want it to be done and done properly. I already cut out the design the way that I want it and in the mirror, it looks perfectly fine.

I'm also going to have to sew the bottom of the feet too as they're supposed to be able to accommodate the geta sandals that Reis is making for me.

Emily's Superhero Wonders

Hey guys! So as you all know, I've had several commissions on my plate that I've been doing my best to try and juggle with college. Aside from this one, I'm currently trying to get a lion done (from Steven Universe!) along with managing my online shop. This is just the most recent one that I've made for Emily! I had made her a super cute flash pillow out of fleece and a blue beetle from fleece. If you're interested in close up shots, feed through the read more.

Custom Choker Commission * Final Product Photos

Hey everyone! So I've finally got my hands on one of my art posts, which is truly a blessing because now my posts can have more points of interest.  Regarding this post, I was asked by Heather to make a choker for her with the pendants she has provided.

The two pendants that I was provided can be seen here. Both had this stunning brass border and I had to do some aging on the silver metals. Heather ended up picking the pink pendant over the blue though, so we'll be seeing it finalized that way!

Here's the final look! I had sewn some lace to the pleather. Then I had taken some bronze acrylic paint to create an aged look.

Afterwards, I had used some brass colored chain to create a gorgeous draped design. I had attached the chains by gluing it to the pleather, as it was too large to string through the punched holes in the leather.

Here's the final look!

Here's Heather in the final look of the necklace! She ended up being able to wear it in their Mary Poppins musical production. (⌒▽⌒)

But also! Here's Heather in her gorgeous items from my online shop Syr.up! She's so amazingly cute.

Stress Relief Sessions

Hey everyone! So I don't know if I had said this, but I think I'm just going to stick to switching back and forth between "personal" posts and art-based posts. But moving on, a while back I was able to have an evening with Bianca to help relieve ourselves from everything going on in our lives.

Shellfish Earrings

It's funny that I'm titling this as "shellfish earrings" when this is definitely not a shellfish project! These shells were given to me by my sister from her trip to Alaska and the gist of the purpose is to recreate them as earrings for my mom. My sister thought it'd be an interesting little project for me and I definitely could not turn down the offer.

So what I had done was, I had created a little bubble on the inside using hot glue to attach the earring hooks in place with wire. Before doing this, I had cleaned the area I was gluing just in case it would create a problem.

And here we are! They look really pretty when on actually, but I completely forgot to take a picture for that. Oops! This is definitely a fun little project and gift to give to others using little things that you've gotten when traveling. In the future though, I'd suggest using an industrial glue instead of hot glue (my mistake) as it lead to some problems and I had to come back to the earrings to fix them up a little.

(Homestuck) Aradia Megido Cosplay * Makeup test

Agh. SO Let me tell you for one that this is pretty gross and pretty bad! I was incredibly upset one day and I had needed something to cheer me up, so I had decided that I was going to try out my homestuck cosplay test. I had been planning on cosplaying Aradia for about...3 years now and I have yet to fully do it.

My makeup is incredibly sloppy unfortunately. I plan on buying mehron paint as it's much higher in quality, a proper theatrical makeup, and it's much more compatible with my skin but because I haven't had the funds, I decided against purchasing it. I ended up using whatever it was that I did have...which was a cheap walmart brand facepaint (you can see where this is going wrong).

My eyeliner is actually a lipstick. My lipstick is dior but unfortunately it's ridiculous. It's so gross and I'm sorry that I'm even sharing it, but I want to get it out of my dropbox ..which means I have to post about it. I promise I'll do a better job sometime soon! I will cosplay aradia at least once in my life...hopefully while I have at least one or two friends still interested in it for a cosplay pair (I can't cosplay as homestuck trash alone!).

Vent art

Ahh,, so I have to say this again but I am definitely not a 2-Dimensional artist. I am awful at art that's...well 2-D. I'd love to try and pick up 2-D art but I've gotten a lot of flack in the past for drawing "anime" art. I've obviously been able to draw other types of art in the past, but that doesn't stop the fact that.. I can't bring myself to do it most of the time. But I definitely will do anything I feel the need to vent. This art piece in particular is definitely a piece that I had made over the worst period of my life. I had gone through a long, long period of stress and I had felt an overwhelmingly large amount of negativity. College stresses, stresses from relationships, stresses from being thrown so early into adulthood with no idea of what I'm doing but still being expected to act and behave like an adult. Whatever really.
***
I had made this piece using acrylic paint. I had originally sketched out using pencil my template...but I'm not sure what came over me during the painting process. My persona started leaning and at some point I completely destroyed her facial features. I had also used some deep, saturated purples and pinks to create movement in the background to further express my emotions. I'm not sure how these colors and the like all tie together, but in the end I felt incredibly lighter. The flowers around the pieces are from the flowers that my sister had given me for my birthday. I had dried them as they meant so much to me, and I had used them in this project.

[DIY] Hanger Organizer

Hey guys! So I have a little question, have you guys seen this tutorial yet? I've seen it everywhere on Pinterest and I've always found it to be pretty interesting. Aaaand after having the problem below happen to me several times, I caved and decided to try it out.

Y u c k. This is definitely a nightmare. But! We now have an obvious solution. Let's move forward shall we? (Also, sorry for the lame photos...gross.. I know)

So what you'll need are wooden hangers, some screw in hooks, and preferably a screw driver and a screw. I had gotten my wooden hangers from the pile of hangers that we no longer use anymore and I had gotten the hooks from the 99 cents store surprisingly. I'll be showing you the hanging device I had made using the smaller hanger (ended up using the larger one as I have more jewelry now).

Haha. I'm sorry I'm a cheater.. we have this cutie that saved me so much time.

So I completely forgot to take a photo of me using the screw driver and the screw, but basically what you need to do is place the screwdriver in place and then screw it in with the screwdriver. Doing this will help create a space for your hooks to go while also making it much, much easier as it'll sit snugly in the prepared space.

Now just screw the hook in all the way.

And continue on.. and the you should have your organizer! I know my first attempt was kind of ridiculous and was pretty dang awkward. I didn't intend for that to happen but I ran out of hooks and uniformity doesn't bother me too much when it only serves to hold things of mine.

But as you can see, this is what the hanging device looks like! It's much, much easier than using a jewelry box for storage. Not only do you get to see all of your jewelry in one place, but you also don't have to live with the stresses of detangling your jewelry.

Thanks for reading! I hope it managed to help out you all one way or another~ I'm pretty late on the bandwagon, but that's besides the point haha.
