Knitting Craze?

One of the many activities that we have had in Art2Cure would be the knitting activity ! We (sort of) taught our members how to knit and crochet. Although there are a variety of ways (some which are kind of hard), we tried our best to help them figure out a way that works best for them.

Finished!! || Felt Vessel!

After all this time, I finally finished! The felt vessel had a blanket stitch using a light purple and then a dark purple and then I added in the gold wire to give it a spider web look. Around the entire piece are beads and paper butterflies and inside is my little friend from my friend from Australia and needle felted and knitted little knick knacks. The top is weaved using yarn and raffia.

I guess you can figure out that I bought more food and some fake eyelashes to see how they'd look.

DVD goodness! Audrey Hepburn + The Princess Diaries

My aunt gave me this wonderful DVD on Audrey Hepburn! I'm always really happy when I get more movies to add to me and my sister's movie collection! She holds onto the film and cinematography and I hold onto animation and usually, but not always, musicals and the like. 

History Project Prop Making

 

 I think acrylic paint and cardboard prop making will be the death of me.

Maggiano's Little Italy & The Grove with John and the family!

Good food, sort of nice family, and the really fun to be around John, all mean good times to enjoy. Pasta is great, just so you all know. But you know what? Tiramisu and Creme Brulee are what makes the world spin.

Mint Roving!

Bianca has a tendency to buy a lot of roving (which Reis and I are willingly supporting) and gives me some of the prettier colors (haha sort of) so that I can keep it and use it for felting/needle felting!

McDonald's for Dinner?

In my house, we're sort of poor (although it doesn't really look like it) and we rarely have the ability to eat out, even when it's with junk food like McDonald's. 

But we always enjoy spending time with each other and eating the junk food that we never get to really eat.

And then there's me. I don't eat much so I decided I was going to get more for my money. With a Happy Meal.

It's not really needle felted more like I felted part of it and then left the rest as fluff because I can.

Christmas Gifts! Body Products & Pacman Heat Mug!

 

My sister, being the awesome person she is, bought me one of the coolest mugs that will ever exist. It's a light up (it's heat censored) pacman mug! Although I really wanted the tetris one more from ThinkGeek, it was out of stock and my sister wanted to get me a present for the christmas season. 

Although, as you can see I had two mugs sent to me. The one on the left being the 100% intact mug and the one on the right is broken and even fell apart because it broke during shipping.

But there's nothing that says good days than my sister also buying really awesome tea that we used to drink all the time when we were little kids!!

Usually, whenever my aunt and my grandma come over to our house, they come to take us out to go eat or something. Unfortunately, my aunt was incredibly hungry when she joined us and she was clueless as to where she wanted to go out to eat...so she asked me.

SO I had gotten really bored and I found this really cool yarn! I decided I was going to knit with it and I guess I'm succeeding so far?

Paris Baguette w/ Mel + Calvin

I love going to Paris Baguette with good friends. Melissa and Calvin tagged along with Bianca, Reis, and myself and I honestly am very happy. Good food. Good friends. That's what life is about.

Contemporary Media Filming

I was asked to be the main actress in one of the contemporary media films! I didn't have too much of a hard time, and the film in the end was sort of bad due to editing...but that's besides the point.

Crayon Lipstick!

Melissa really wanted to try making lipstick and stuff using crayons and so we bought some of them plastic tube containers and played around with some stuff to make lipstick!

We made a lot of them actually..

Some of them were a little...incredibly silly.

But yeah that's just kind of how things went! Some of the ones we made were less like lipstick and more like lip balm, but there's no real problem with that either..

Dance-A-Thon || Face/Body painting !

Art2Cure volunteered to do some face painting so Amy and I were the artists in charge...although to be fair, most of the work was done by me because people unfortunately came when I was the one in charge of the table.. I've done some face painting before, but it wasn't all that bad of a deal so I never seemed to have a problem. We had two types of face paint brands, one was like using acrylic paint but dried like a tempera paint and the other was like using watercolor but looked like acrylic paint when dried. I didn't have too hard of a time working with either.

I had painted a lot that night actually...but unfortunately I had the misfortune of not being able to take any pictures (good ones at that) of them due to a sudden increase in demand.

These weren't actually of either brands. I used a face paint brand on Jewel that I usually use on myself. It worked like acrylic paint and dried looking like watercolor. It was really smooth and very easy to use. Jewel really liked how it turned out though, I'm so happy that she let me practice on her during our free period in japanese!

Mindy was so happy when I painted her though, I thought that was adorable!
