Modern Neutrals -- Construction

Hey guys! So Remember how I had brought up the fact that I was accepted into the Recycled Arts and Fashion Show? Well here's the outfit that I had entered.

I had constructed the majority of it using a packaging that we had gotten from when we had unpacked a couple of new music stands. The cardboard is a nice cardboard and paper-y material that's really flexible but very efficient to keep things nice and safe.

I had gathered the parts together using a stapler to serve as the stitching.

Wondercon : Day 1 -- Friday

Hey guys! I'm sorry that I've been so inactive and that I keep lagging day by day because of all the things going on in my life but here I am! I'm finally back and I have a ton of stuff that I just NEED to share with you all.

A long while back in April, I had attended my second year of Wondercon! I had gone there with the wonderful group that I had attended with last year, consisting of Elise who went as Giffany from Gravity Falls, Emily who went as Wondergirl, Heather who went as Melody (also from Gravity Falls), and Charity who I believe had a cosplay from one of the Legend of Zelda games! (I'm sorry I'm an uncultured swine;;)

Wondercon is located in Anaheim and is one of my favorite cons...although I will admit that they're a tad bit...really boring. But that's not that important! I was given my badge as a gift from Heather and when I had gotten my actual badge from the con, I was given a child's card instead of a junior which I thought was absolutely hilarious.

Congratulatory Gift~!!

So a long while back, I had gotten an acceptance to participate in the Recycled Arts and Fashion Show in Temecula, California and this was one of the cutest and sweetest little presents that I had received as a congratulations!

Here's some shots of the email~!

I feel so thankful for this. I don't know what I'll be doing and I'll have to think about it...but I'm just so thankful that all of this is happening to me!!! Thank you everyone for your help and support. I love you all.

Ceramics Interactive Final -- Finished

Hey guys! Guess what's also finally finished? (Also if you hadn't noticed by the slow amounts of posts and by the lag that you see from my instagram and twitter accounts to my blog over here, I'm running very, very behind!!)

That's right! The interactive sculpture is finally finished once and for all.

All of the pieces that you see here have finally been glazed and taken care of. Then there are some extra pieces such as the pink swirls and the rocks that I had made using polymer clay, covered in metallic dust, and then baked.

I honestly had no idea that the construction of the piece was going to be as difficult as it had been. It took such a long amount of time to get all the wire to be the shape that I had needed it to be...

And to string the wire through the pieces so that it'd work nice and smoothly didn't end up working too well either... it was and ended up being extremely difficult and hadn't been as wonderful as I had expected and anticipated it to be.

For the deer, I had put wire through the legs and the body to keep them together. I had carefully picked a wire that was similar to the metal that I had used around the deer, in case you were wondering! And then I had added some twine around the neck to get rid of that empty space.

I had also finally got around to painting the face on! It's not similar on both sides, but I honestly don't feel like that matters too much. I still like it nonetheless.

Open House -- Finished Arrangements!

Hey guys! Guess what's finally finished? That's right! The open house walls. I'm so excited to see open house but I'm even more excited to know that I'm finally finished with getting all of these things down and finished.

All of these shots are off the wall and the various things and art pieces that I had used to display all of the art pieces. I tried my best to fill up as much as possible.

I'm just so happy that they all turned out the right way!

Fairytales -- Ever After High's Cerise Wolf

Hey guys! It's been a while since I had last posted an update on this ceramic art piece of mine...so hopefully this is a good enough post for you all!

Here are the shots of the piece before it had gone through the kiln for a glaze firing. I remember taking some pictures of the piece before I had applied the transparent glaze overtop of the face of Cerise, but I can't seem to find them. When I do though, I'll post a little update here! I promise!

Update: Here are the shots!

But even after the piece had came out of the firing, I had decided that I was really unhappy with how it looked...so I went straight in with the nail polish and the metallic acrylic paints to do a similar look that I had done with the slab wrap.

The adventures of my stomach

Not really going to comment about this....but I've been very fond of food lately.

I think it might be because it takes the stress out of life...

Ceramic Slab box

This is long overdue, but guess what is finally finished!!

My ceramic slab box is finally finished. I had made a little wood-like design...doing a carving to get the type of look that I had wanted and to get that popping look that I just really love oh so dearly.

In the first picture, I had shown the wooden thing that I had decided that I wanted to use to get the type of textures that I had managed to achieve.

As for the inside, I had tried to make it as smooth as possible.

Lastly I had added in the butterfly over top of a nice rock that I had made, did some incising to give it a nice design. Scored down some rectangular slabs to get that sweet little border (later incising a line near the edge of that) and added in some metal nails to serve as the antennas!
