Bubblegum Flavors

I had a hard time sleeping the other night and I don't exactly know what I did, but I decided that I was going to make some drinks. There wasn't any trouble for any of it, I just kind of experimented with what I had and when it tasted awful, I just threw in something else that I knew would fix the flavor.

Honestly, I have absolutely no idea as to what I'd made, but my brother was satisfied with it because it tasted like bubblegum to him.

Have you heard about the baker's daughter? They say that she had disappeared the day of her wedding and that no one has seen her since..but there's a rumor that she lays underneath the rose bed by the Prince's castle..

Hey guys! So lately, I've been trying to make use of all the "trash" in my room! Me being me, I've found use for all the little things that people call trash and I've found a way to make use of everything. With this, I'm happy to say that I started a new project line! It's called rumors. These pieces are all created and then are given a rumor or some kind of gossip. So far, most of them are based off of old folk tales and mythical creatures.

This piece was created using an old Ferrero rocher container and an old bouquet that I had dried! I had originally started by hot gluing a piece of tissue paper to the bottom, then slowly added the rest of the pieces. The girls in all of my pieces are drawn by hand onto cardstock and then colored in using colored pencils, watercolor, or with crayons.

The flowers were crushed and trimmed to achieve the look I'd have gone for. This piece is inspired by the tale of Sleeping Beauty. I had hoped to achieve a, I guess you can say, morbid and twisted look based .

The brother's latest thing

Woop Vanguard. My brother has been very interested in the card game as of late, mostly because of his friend dropping by and teaching him how to play the game..but my brother has been on his toes so that he can get his own cards one day...even taking money from the siblings every so often haha ;;

Galaga Hairpin!

I'd manage to lose the hairpin that I'd made last time...and I've been meaning to fix this one up this time..so I took the chance and remade my hair pin! Although it would've been best to use an alligator clip instead of the one I did use (I haven't perfected my vocabulary and I'm lagging/running a bit slow right now so I don't have much to use for research), it still worked wonders! 

Features and Recognition ?? (Also actual picture)

So an unfinished version of my harvest moon: a tale of two towns piece that I made two year ago ended up on instagram?? The amount of attention this picture has gotten is incredibly cool! I mean it turns out thay both the unfinished and the finished version comes up when you Google the game.. And while I honestly think that my art, especially the older ones, is pretty bad.. this is just really cool and really flattering?? 💠

I never thought it could look this good. I'm still iffy about the arm and the picture of Lillian holding the bouquet and her eyes, but it was the best I could do. I'm really happy that I put in all that effort.
I haven't worked this hard on a picture since the picture of Lily (vocaloid) for her Anniversary contest.

Replacing/Removing safety eyes from a stuffed animal

This was originally supposed to be a tutorial of some sort...but I gave up and ran out of time and lost interest in really turning it into a tutorial! You can just look at the pictures, they'll explain the process much better than I will/can.

I don't really have anything out of the ordinary to comment about all of this..but I do know that I really enjoy spending my free days with the people I care about dearly. It makes everything...so much more worthwhile when you think of it that way.

Vanellope Von Schweetz !!

Thank you to my magnificent friend Heather Cook who let me borrow her amazing Vanellope cosplay! It means a lot to me and I was so happy to be wearing it. My days have just been the worst..and I've been the worst.. and so even though the action may not seem all that important or big....it made me incredibly happy. Thank you!

Blog updated!

After!

I had been trying to get back on track with my blog posts more recently here on blogspot, but unfortunately I haven't had the motivation or the time to really catch myself up to date! Because of this, I thought it'd be the perfect opportunity to fix my blogposts via my phone..because I feel the need to get more things done through my phone. Unfortunately, I tampered a little too much with the app on my phone and it spazzed and did something to my layout haha! 

Alas, I had to fix the entire thing completely...it looks a little more mature...with a hint of silly good ol' me still. I kind of really like it..?

Aradia Megido Horns Progress!

I guess I should have taken a photo of these horns before I covered them in clay...but I guess that's behind me now whether I like it or not.

I made the base for these horns with aluminum foil and I had used 4 base colors of polymer clay. I don't exactly have the colors on me right now, as I used them all up and mindlessly threw out their packaging.

In order to have enough clay for the entire project, I didn't have any doubles you see...just whatever I had on me at the time, I had to combine and mix the colors so that they'd work.

I mixed a large variety of colors, and I guess the downside is how little/how few bits of orange there were...but I guess it couldn't be helped as orange was the color I used quite often in the past.

So, it's time to bake!

I have a natural tendency to resort to food when I'm stressed..that being said, I did not have any chocolate bars whatsoever...so I improvised and used brownies. 

The bright side about this..is that everything tasted like heaven. That, and I overdosed on marshmallows for the sake of burning things.....yeah.

Finished dress!

So as you all know, I have been working constantly to make sure that my cosplay for Anime Expo will be finished and done! Unfortunately, I guess you can say that I fell in love with the outfit that I had made..

This dress was the one that I had made using the two garments and then made the sleeves using flannel that I had leftover. I had used http://www.tillyandthebuttons.com/2013/02/how-to-insert-sleeve.html and http://www.clothingpatterns101.com/bishop-sleeve.html. The sleeve that I had made is called a bishop sleeve, although the top part was cut off to fit the design of the dress. While the fabrics aren't all the same and was mostly thrown together and cut up..I didn't think that it was too harsh of a problem..? 

I'm a little sad though! It's so wonderful..it makes me sad thinking about how I'd have to dye it ;A;!! I worked so hard to make sure everything gathered correctly and that things were in the right spots...also, I was very,very careful to make sure that I was using the right pattern! I had to handmake it myself and then tamper with it to make sure it had the same look that I needed....I guess it's also kind of sad that I really am not the best at measuring myself. I kind of...that's why reis was always around..? Sucks when it's summer vacation..pfft..I am kind of helpless...sigh.

Tumblr Theme Updated!

Old Design

After a while of wanting to change my blog's theme to a much more simpler...and less cluttered look, I finally took the chance and I really enjoy the outcome! It's much simpler and the color layout is soothing and is much easier to navigate without being bothered by so many things. But I honestly think the best part would be the playlist! I've always been a sucker for music though...so that's probably why.

New Design

Cosplay break!

I've been working nonstop on my cosplays for Anime Expo, I haven't had the time to fully enjoy and appreciate the little things in life or to really calm down and take a break. My sister saw my fretting as the perfect opportunity for us to head over to the Cassidy's Corner Cafe nearby so that we both could relax a little from our busy day to day lives.

The best part is that we got our usual what not. I got the sweet butter cream red velvet bagel and she got the jalapeno cream cheese everything bagel. It's amazing and they taste absolutely amazing. 

It was a break that I needed, even though it was an hour or less long. Thanks sis!

Porto's Bakery & Cafe!

We'd had gone to the Porto's bakery & cafe here in Downey after attending the first bible study at a newly opened kingdom hall. It was nice, the bible study less so, but the Porto's was very nice.

My mom and brother had forced me out of the car because my brother hates waiting in lines for food and it was absolutely worth the wait. The service was really amazing, my mom was in love with the aesthetics of the place and was incredibly happy with the food too. My brother had ordered potato balls, which he fell madly in love with and grew incredibly sad over how he'd ordered only two of them. But it was his first time at Porto's, so who'd have guessed that'd be his pick? 

As for my mom, she was completely satisfied with everything. I had bought her an Italian cheesecake and she'd payed for the rest. I felt a little bad, but she was happy with everything and that's all I wanted.

We'd left Porto's with two italian cheesecakes, one eaten and one still perfectly in tact, two oreo smoothies, a dozen cheese rolls, and two, now long gone, potato balls. It was amazing and great! I'm glad that everyone thought that it was worth the wait and fell in love with the food as I had my first time.

Upcycled Clothing Part 1

OOps..so I guess I didn't show this post before I had done this...I'm just going to sneakily post this behind it though.

In order to find the fabrics needed to make the dress, I had to find two pieces in my closet and...well for the one that makes the most sense... franken them? 

I used a shirt that I had gotten from a friend who bought it at Abercrombie & Fitch..although it was washed a little clumsily and ruined the fabric and became very see through...I didn't exactly like it too much.

This is just a skirt that I've had for as long as I could remember! It never looked too great on me..but I decided to sacrifice it for this occasion.

The best part about it was that it had pockets!

Cosplay Supply shopping!! & Supply Haul

Hey guys! So the other day, my sister and I had gone to Joann's and Daiso to get supplies for my Anime Expo cosplays! Thankfully, not only were the supplies in my budget, they were also VERY easy to work with..I guess you can say? 

I had a lot of fun going through the fabric section to get the supplies for my bag! It was just so incredibly fun, and I was absolutely in love with some of these designs! Like these watermelon ones...gosh I'd love to come back and make a skirt out of that one!
