More recently, Bianca had tried out spinning cotton and our wonderful art teacher had lent her this little drop spindle (although you would use it in a little bowl or on a journal of some sort, rather than spinning it in the air (sort of air) as you'd always do using a drop spindle...and she had a fairly hard time. So I kind of wanted to try it out too.
Overall, the cotton roving was painful to deal with. It was troublesome and had a huge tendency to break and spazz, but it's understandable as to why and it was our first time trying, so we should at least get commended for trying...y'know?
But overall, the roving itself was really pretty. The cool colors were just a beauty to look at.
Spinning it was a pain in the ass, no lie there.
But when you look at it the way it is, it makes you feel better about the hardships. It's just...so pretty. I really like how it looks...I just don't know when I'd ever use it....ever.
